You could win $250,000 tomorrow with the HQ Trivia app

HQ Trivia - another question

HQ Trivia, the free Android and iOS quiz app, will tomorrow give away its largest prize ever. Thanks to a recent partnership with Warner Bros (for Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One), players will have the chance to win a quarter of a million dollars.

The game will be held at the regular 9pm ET timeslot on Wednesday and follows on from yesterday’s record $100,000 pot. HQ Trivia partnered with Nike to deliver that prize—which will stand as its biggest ever giveaway until tomorrow’s game.

To take home the all or a share of the money, players must answer a series of 12 questions correctly in the live quiz. Each question has a ten-second timer and those who answer correctly can progress to the next question. Wrong answers result in an instant elimination from the game.

HQ Trivia has been running daily quizzes at 9pm EST, with weekday games also on at 3pm EST, since it launched on Android last December. The prize money is usually set at $5,000, though it’s much more on Sundays and for special events.

As far as marketing crossovers go, the Ready Player One tie-in is a pretty good one. The movie is about protagonist Wade Watt’s attempts to climb the leaderboard of a virtual world to win a grand prize—ownership of said VR universe, the Oasis. HQ Trivia can’t quite offer winners that, but a share of 250,000 bucks ain’t bad either.
