Xiaomi appears to be working on a Mi Max 2 (pictured above) successor. In a recent leak from Gizmochina (via GSMArena), a device render has appeared that’s believed to depict the upcoming handset.
The picture reveals a lineup of three devices—two blue, one black—with rear-mounted fingerprint scanners and a dual rear-cameras.
There’s not a whole lot more we can take from the low-fi image, but some specs details were leaked alongside it. The device is rumored to feature a 7-inch, 18:9 display, a Snapdragon 635 chip, plus 3 GB/64 GB and 4 GB/128 GB memory configurations.
The rear camera specs weren’t commented on, but it looks like it will include a 5 MP front camera, and a 5,500 mAh battery. According to GSMArena, previous rumors had indicated that handset may arrive in two chipset flavors: one with a Snapdragon 630 and one with a Snapdragon 660. It’s too early to tell which of these is the more accurate.
Meanwhile, the handset is speculated to cost around CNY 1,699, or roughly $265.
These are all just rumors for the time being, but it’s said that the handset may arrive in June this year. With the Mi Max 2 being released in June 2017, and the original in May 2015, it seems pretty likely that we’ll have a few months to wait before any official announcements.
