- The update brings a number of new features including Face Unlock.
- It also includes the January security update and protection against the Meltdown security vulnerability.
- Users should see the update on their device by January 24.
The Honor View 10 is getting a new update that brings several new features and important security updates.
One of the new features is Face Unlock. As you might imagine, the camera scans your face and unlocks the phone when you look at it, but the Honor View 10 has another trick up its sleeve. In addition to Face Unlock, the phone is gaining a new smart notification setting. When enabled, the device hides lock screen notifications unless it recognizes your face.
The Honor View 10 also gains a new option to align the screen orientation to your face. This is a handy feature to have, especially if you’re a person who likes to read while laying down. We’ve all fought with auto rotate in those situations, right? Users will also have an option to disable screen timeout and screen dimming when the phone detects you’re looking at it.
The update brings a fix for the recent Meltdown security vulnerability and the January security update, with its many security fixes.
If you haven’t seen the update yet, you shouldn’t have to wait long. Huawei says it’s going out in stages and should be on everyone’s device by January 24.
